Under NDIS, Accessibility care offers Short term accommodation (STA) to participants in West Melbourne and North Melbourne. Short-term accommodation allows disabled individuals to stay at our NDIS care facilities for a stipulated time period. Whether they wish for a change of environment or need different NDIS accommodation for a few days due to other reasons, short-term accommodation is the perfect solution. During their time at one of Accessibility Care’s branches, the individual can enjoy community living and make use of the various facilities and specialised help.
Eligibility
Who can access Short Term Accommodation (STA)?
All eligible NDIS participants can access Short Term Accommodation in Melbourne for the following reasons:
- Change in the current circumstances or a crisis puts the disabled person at risk of becoming homeless or even being forced to join an aged care facility. This provision under NDIS provides short-term accommodation till the crisis or disorder settles.
- For the purpose of capacity building and/or independent living support.
- If the carer has faced an unforeseen situation and is unable to provide care or if support staff does not report to duty, short term accommodation is a great option.
- For a change in environment and to enjoy some community-based activities
- During home renovation or modification for which shifting out might become necessary.
- While recovering from an illness that requires additional care and support from professionals.
